01 May School Update 1st May
SCHOOL UPDATE FRIDAY 1st MAY
We hope that you are all staying safe and keeping well. The school continues to be closed to the majority of children due to the government lockdown advice. Once we receive any information about any changes to the current circumstances we will inform our school community immediately.
Hopefully you will have received a call over the past week from your child’s teacher or a member of staff to check in with you and to ensure that you are managing with the Home Learning. We are pleased to hear that so many of our children are accessing the Home Learning opportunities regularly. If you are struggling to access the Home Learning, please contact the school office for support via email admin@alexprimary.haringey.sch.uk or call 020 8888 9771. We have also added a document on the website news feed outlining how to access the Home Learning on the website.
If you are eligible for Free School Meals, you should now have received a link to redeem your vouchers. If you are having trouble downloading the vouchers, please contact the school office. McColl’s has joined the list of supermarkets that will redeem vouchers secured through the free school meals national voucher scheme. Supermarkets available also include Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose, M&S, Asda and Morrisons.
We are delighted that our new School Business Manager, Katie Wetherill, is joining us as part of the Alexandra Primary School staff team on Monday 4th May.
Mrs Spencer, our school reading lead has also recommended a book to read. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, her favourite book of the past year. Enter the world of Charlie’s unlikely friends; discover their story and their most important life lessons. During what is a challenging time, this lovely book is a celebration of kindness, compassion and understanding, which will inspire all.
Thank you to the members of the school staff team who are continuing to come to school to teach the children, make calls home and to ensure that we are continuing to do everything to support our school community.
Friday 8th May is a Bank Holiday, so school will be closed to all children on that day.
Please continue to socially distance from people not within your family home. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
