What makes us special?
Our Pupils
Our pupils are at the heart of everything we do. They are motivated, resilient and full of potential. We celebrate their individuality, encourage their aspirations, and help them to develop into confident, caring and successful young people.
Our Community
We are proud to be a diverse and inclusive school where every family feels welcome and valued. Strong partnerships between staff, parents, and the wider community create a nurturing environment where children thrive both academically and personally.
Music
Music is an important part of school life at Alexandra. From whole-class instrumental lessons to choir and performances, every child has the chance to experience the joy of music. We believe music builds confidence, creativity, and teamwork, while giving children a powerful way to express themselves.
Our Curriculum
Rich, ambitious, and thoughtfully designed with six themes that are revisited throughout pupils' learning journey. We ensure that learning is engaging and meaningful including real-world experiences that prepare our pupils for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
Trips and Visits
We believe learning extends far beyond the classroom. Trips, workshops, and cultural visits help bring the curriculum to life, spark new interests, and create unforgettable experiences that broaden children’s horizons and inspire lifelong learning.
Pupil Leadership
We give our pupils genuine opportunities to take on leadership roles and make a difference in school life. From school council to eco warriors, pupils develop responsibility, teamwork, and a strong sense of voice and agency.
Forest School
Through our Forest School programme at Alexandra Palace, children experience the wonder of the outdoors while building resilience, independence and teamwork. Practical, hands-on activities in nature encourage problem solving, creativity and a deep respect for the environment
Research-Informed Teaching and Learning
At Alexandra our teaching and learning is shaped by the latest educational research, ensuring every child benefits from evidence-based practice. By continually reflecting, learning and improving, we provide the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
RISE House
RISE House is a dedicated provision within our school for children with social, emotional and mental health needs. RISE stands for Relationships, Insight, Success and Education. We work closely with families to nurture confidence, build resilience and support every child’s journey to thrive and succeed.
