26 Jun Friday 26th June weekly update
ALEXANDRA PRIMARY SCHOOL FRIDAY 26TH JUNE 2020
More Children Returning
We have been delighted with the wider opening of the school over the past few weeks, with the return of year1, reception and then year 6 in addition to the key worker group who have been with us since 25th March.
Next week we will also have children from year 5 and year 4 returning to school. Families who have indicated a desire to send their children back to school in these year groups have received a letter confirming drop off and pick up times as well the teacher who will be teaching.
Thank you to the families who have been dropping off and picking up punctually at the correct times; this is essential for the safety of all as it minimises the risk of people congregating and allows social distancing to be maintained.
Please continue to follow the advice to not congregate in large groups for the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the community.
Free School Meals Vouchers and Summer Holidays
Further to the information in our previous update, we can confirm that those families currently receiving free school meals vouchers WILL continue to do so during the summer holidays.
You will receive ONE voucher to cover the 6 week period instead of weekly like you currently receive. This voucher will be emailed to families, week commencing Monday 13th July. Please make sure you redeem it straight away so that if you have any issues we can help you before the school closes on Friday 17th July.
If you have issues redeeming the voucher please contact the school via email at email@example.com or call 020 8888 9771 so we can offer you support.
Creativity at Home
Mrs Conway has sent this link as a suggestion for boosting your creative opportunities with a stay at home pack to develop art, drama and games skills.
Home Learning Stars
Eduart in Mexico has been engaging so positively with home leaning and producing outstanding work and responding to teacher comments on google classroom. Well done Eduart, we are all so proud of you.
Below are examples of Eduarts English and geography work.
There is also an example of art produced by Iva – we are very impressed with this.
Year 6 Tree of Life Work
Below are examples of work produced by year 6 this week as they returned to school.
Our weekly contribution from Mrs Spencer is about the author Kes Grey, author of Oi Frog
and the Daisy books. He has created a you tube channel where you can listen to him
reading his books. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoOhtVZl1EUE-o3rFpBghNg
