20 Mar Coronavirus Update Friday 20th March
School will be closed to all, staff and children, on Monday 23rd March. This is to enable a deep clean to take place to help minimise the risk of the spread of infection. Staff will be back in school on Tuesday 24th March.
We have been working extremely hard within the school to try to ensure we have a clear plan for children of key workers and vulnerable children. We will be contacting these families directly over coming days to offer places.
Children who are in school will be expected to be in uniform. The structure of the day and work within the new school day will be very different from the normal daily routine. Once we have the children in place we will share with families how the school day will be structured.
The current plans are that children will begin at 8:45 until 3:10. We do not currently have provision for Breakfast Club or After School provision. School will be closed for all other children who have not been contacted directly and offered a place. Children not in school must be following the guidance for home learning which has been sent home in packs and uploaded onto the school website.
We are looking into the logistics of sharing with families the milk and fruit that usually comes into school – we will keep families informed once we have a clear plan for sharing this. We will also be contacting families about how to access food we receive from The Felix Project each Tuesday.
If you have any concerns or queries please contact the school admin email address if you feel you require support, help or guidance.
If you suspect you may have symptoms of coronavirus or are worried about the coronavirus you can call 111 or contact 111online for advice and guidance.
We will continue to update our families and school community via the school website over the coming days and weeks as information comes to us and circumstances change.
We urge our school community to follow all official guidance during this epidemic to help keep everyone safe, particularly the most vulnerable amongst us.
The staff team in school this week have been absolutely amazing with how they have worked in very difficult and trying circumstances. They have shown amazing resilience with the challenges they have faced, showing their true dedication and commitment to Alexandra Primary, its children and the wider community.
I do not have the space to name them all – you know who you are. THANKYOU.
