During Circle Time the children will be discussing different articles as part of being a Rights Respecting School. Please take time to discuss the article and related questions with your children at home.
Article 15 – Freedom of Association
Every child has the right to meet with other children and to join groups and organisations, as long as this does not stop other people from enjoying their rights.
Have a think about the questions below and discuss them with your family. Remember to respect other people’s opinions even if you disagree.
What does association mean? Where have you heard that word before?
What opportunities are there in school to associate with others?
Being in lockdown means that we can’t associate with people the way we used to. What are the things you miss most?
Why do you think that there isn’t actually a ‘Right to have friends’ in the charter? Do all the people in the clubs and groups you belong to have to be your friend?
